Purchasing Advice?
I am currently in the market for a new 2008 4runner. Toyotas incentive for march is 1200 cash back. I have been told by some that toyota may be coming out with new incentives in april. The 1200 ends march 31. Should i buy the car now and get the 1200 cash back, or wait and see what is offered in april?

I would wait. Truck based SUVs sales are in the tank. Toyota (and other companies) will need incentives to move these vehicles all year. But if you need the vehicle now, then buy it.

Michael asks…
Would you let your SO/Partner/Spouses extreme frugality put your safety/well being at risk?
Just to make a long story short. My friend is married to a wonderful guy, but he’s not so wonderful when it comes to money. He’s an extreme tight wad when it comes to money. A week ago today, my friends van broke down in the middle of the road, and it nearly caused an accident. She had been telling her husband for weeks, there was something wrong with the car, but he just brushed off her concerns. The one thing that made her the angriest about the accident, was the fact the kids we’re in the car with her. Basically her husband didn’t really care about their safety, only about his wallet.
Over the last 3 years he has purchased 9 cars (at auction) that break down within a short period of time. The cars have been sitting around their property since. Tuesday morning she told her husband that she’s tired of driving cheap cars that break down. Since all of the junk cars we’re in her name, she was going to take them all down to the dealership, and see what she could get for them.
My friends husband lost his temper and forbade her to spend any money for a new car. She gave him two choices: Either STFU or she was filing for divorce. She was not going to put up with his careless attitude anymore. Their children’s lives were at risk, because he didn’t want to spend the money to have the car looked at. He left the house and didn’t come back for 2 days.
He stayed at our house in the spare room. This is where I learned something that I didn’t know. He grew up in an extremely poor family, and there was never enough food to go around. He often went hungry. Had it not been for school, he wouldn’t have had anything to eat during the day. This is what formed his attitudes toward money. I did tell him that there is a time to be frugal, and his family’s safety had to be a priority. You can’t put a price on well being. He went home that night and begged his wifes forgiveness.
On black friday they went down to a Ford dealership that was 2 blocks from their house. All of the junky cars we’re driven onto the lot, and evaluated. They got the $2,000 incentive, $500 military appreciation, $500 student discount. In all they got a $18,000 car for $8500. My friends paid cash for the car. Now my sweet friends has a reliable car, and she feels safe.
So my question is: Would you let your SO/Partner/Spouses extremely frugal ways put your safety/well being at risk? Please no rude answers, thank you.
CSC101 Customer Service answers:
No i don’t and you did the right thing, thats what friends are for. I don’t care what the curcumstance might be or with who, friend, family, stranger, if you see them in a dangerous situation, being a descent human being, you should say something so it might help that person prevent the worst happening.

Driving in Florida = Your question needs to be at least 20 characters long.?
is it true: -Florida is not even safe for vacations to Disney? Police pull over white families with kids in the car to give driver a breathalyzer and seize children only ages 4 and under because older children are not adoptable. Their TV News commercial shows a lady in hand-cuffs saying “Came to Florida on vacation; going home on probation!” Also on the News a white woman shows off her new half black baby, saying State will not take this one, even though they took her first 5 children who were all white.
-Then I discovered 75% of Florida’s State revenue comes from the Federal level to fund law enforcement activities including the State receiving cash incentives from the national government for seizing children. This has led to the seizure of thousands of caucasian children from their natural parents by social workers hoping to receive bonuses. State cannot place black or Hispanic children with foster families or families who can afford to adopt, so they leave the minorities alone. My take home lesson was to get out of Florida.
-In my rush to leave Florida, I received 2 speeding tickets for going 70 mph in a 55 zone, but because I don’t drink, they could not arrest me nor take my kids. I kept driving 70 all the way back to Ohio, then from Ohio to California and back but never got another ticket.
-P.S. = Only in Florida and Texas did I see cops lie in wait for out of state license plates.

People are responsible for getting themselves in those situations, police are only doing their jobs.
