Ruth asks…
What was the most positive result of the “Cash for Clunkers” program?
CSC101 Customer Service answers:
It provides future ghenerations wit an excellent example of a government program that was created to serve a special interest (unions) that was ill-concieved and turned into an utter failure.

Robert asks…
How can the “cash for clunkers” be out of money when the government?
has not issued ONE CHECK to the dealers who are in tight financial problems and now are having to foot the bill for this ridiculous plan. Medicare payments to doctors and the hospitals are the same way and now a select few of the uninformed think that that government run health care will be different. Liberal have one deep point of ignorance in that they think they do something they same way time after time and yet produce different results.
“goodguy” I have a feeling you do not now or ever have owned a car. From your answers it is even odd you live in your parents basement.

CSC101 Customer Service answers:
The program is extremely successful.
It kills 3 birds with one stone.
1. It helps the car industry.
2. It helps Main Street, U.S.A.
3. It helps the environment.
The dealers must be getting their checks because they are extremely excited about the program.

Betty asks…
Has anyone actually used the Cash for Clunkers program?
I know a lot of people across the United States have used it, supposedly over 240,000 cars have been sold as a result of it. My question is has anyone reading my question personally used it? Is it as easy as the ads claim? Do you have to pay the voucher back?
CSC101 Customer Service answers:
Yup-your clunker has to meet certain criteria-age, mpg, etc and your new car has to be part of the program that gets a certain mpg etc. Your “voucher” has to go towards the purchase price of the new vehicle. It can not be used as a down payment. The CARS program does not have to be paid back-it is an allowance or cash off the price of the new car. Just like any other rebate or allowance program. Many times the CARS program can not be combined with other rebates. And sometimes it ends up being cheaper to use other rebate programs and/or 0% financing. Do your research before using it. But it is easy to use.
