Used car value for 1995 Honda Civic? (Canada)?
I have a 1995 2 door Honda Civic Coupe ( I’m based in Montreal Cananda). The head gasket needs to be changed. Other than that the car is in good condition. New tires, paint good, body good (except for little rust above back wheels), new suspension, new distributor, new timing belt, new water pump, new exhaust pipe, new radiator, Ac in good conditon. What can I ask for it and/or what would be the trade in price?
Kelley blue book doesn’t quote for Canada.

Does it take 2 months for car manufactory ship car to dealership in Canada?
I recently purchased a 2010 toyota camry (white colour) this past sat. I already paid $2000. The sales asked me when I want the car before I purchase. Then I asked him it shouldn’t take more than 2-3 weeks? Then he just said he will try his best to get it for me as soon as possible.
Then today I called him and he’s saying he’s trying to swap his black camry order to a white camry order from BC and I’m in toronto. He said because not much people order white colour and it’s hard to find it.
Also there’s a trade-in for this deal and he said maybe later needs to adjust the trade-in value if it takes that long. So I told him that’s all the money I can put and they didn’t let me know how long it could take so I can’t pay more money on this deal. I’m a bit upset.
I had feelings even the deal made but they gave me the look that they wasn’t happy about the deal.
Hope I’m just sensitive but could it take 2 months to ship a car over?
Please let me know what you know and any suggestions will be great.

Yea the trade-in value is already in the purchase so I’m not sure why he said that or not sure they can change it.

You should have put the trade-in value right on the purchase order for the car. If he did, then it’s no longer negotiable. If they wanted to take a look at the value of your trade in they should do it before putting down the value.
I’m afraid if you didn’t put the trade in value on your purchase order, or don’t otherwise have it in writing, you may be stuck on that front. Sounds like he’s taking advantage of you, but since you haven’t take measures to circumvent it, I’m not sure what if anything you can do now.
Can you call up another Camry store and ask them to locate the model you want? (Don’t say you intend to use the information to disprove another dealer though. Tell them you’ve eager buy the car and are trying to locate one as quickly as possible). It does not take 2 months to ship a car from BC to Ontario if the car already exists, and since it’s a new model year I highly highly highly doubt that it’s so rare they can’t find one in Ontario at all.
You may want to take someone who’s been through the car-buying process with you next time you go in. You may also want to ask if that $2000 is refundable (or check if you’ve signed anything). This really sounds like the type of person you don’t want to do business with.

Ok heres my situation….
I have a 629 Transunion score (credit bureau)
Gross Income = 38500/yr
NET Monthly pay (After taxes) = $2316 (1158 bi-wkly)
I’m 23 years old, have 3 Active credit accounts.
1 Installment loan, $10K Balance.. $240/month
2 Visa’s… 3200 Balance, 3500 Limit & 1700 Balance, $2000 limit.
I also have a closed car loan which was Paid out as agreed that was worth $20,000 when opened.
My 629 Score is rather low, but I’m assuming its because of my relatively high credit card balances and only 5 years under my belt of credit history….
I’m applying for Financing through an Audi Dealer (I believe Volkswagen Finance) for $24000… (Havent decided if I want to trade in my free & clear 2000 Honda Prelude black book value of $5000.)
its a 2006 Audi A3 2.0T… Obviously this financing would be secured against the vehicle but im worried I wont get approved because of my high visa balances and perhaps my networth.. My savings are all in RSP’s… and that 10,000$ personal loan is dragging down my networth…
Other then that my monthly liabilities are next to none….
$240/month personal loan
$110/month insurance
$70/month Cell phone
$50/month utilities (help parents)
$85/month VISA’s combined minimum payments
= $555/month tied down right now or 23% of my total income is dedicated to liabilities….
What are my chances of being approved for this vehicle?
Oh and my repayment history is flawless, no late payments on my credit bureau, never any items in collections.
